Promo Wish List...Day 3

The final day of showcasing promotional outfit choices has arrived.  Well, who are we kidding...I could do about 18 more posts of outfit wish lists for Kristen.  BUT that was not the challenge presented to me.  I had to choose only 10.

*drumrolll* Here are my top 10 wishes for Kristen for BD promo

Roland Mouret (I think this shape and color would look amazing on her)

Bottega Veneta (It has that edge but still very detailed and classy)

Osman (Something about this dress just really stuck out to me)

Matthew Williamson (This is probably too springy for her to wear for October/November promo, but the colors would look stunning on her. Plus that mini slit, yes.)

Marios Schwab (I had a hard time choosing one Marios Schwab. The detailing on this one really stood out to me.)

J. Mendel (Again, hard to choose just one J.Mendel. It was between this one and a purple one. Ultimately, I went with this one because I think the cut of this dress would look better on her.)

Herve Leger (Not long sleeves, but ¾ which is close enough. I’ve always liked Kristen in Herve Leger dresses.  Also, those shoes…can she wear those too?)

Jason Wu (YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW BADLY I WANT TO SEE HER IN THIS DRESS.  LADSKFJALSDKFJALSDKFJ. I know it’s not her normal style with all that material at the bottom, but I think it could work.)

Elie Saab

L'Wren Scott (Two of my favorite colors on her plus this body hugging fit...UNF)

***My bonus look because I couldn't leave this out.  This is a Marios Schwab dress from the Resort 2013 collection.  I SWEAR IF SOMEONE DOESN'T GET HER IN THIS DRESS FOR PROMO I MAY HAVE TO HURT SOMEONE.  At this point, I don't care if she wears it to a BBQ as long as she is wearing it.  In my opinion, this dress was made for her.

So there you have it.  Three days of promo wish lists.  Do you have a favorite from the collections featured?

Here's my challenge to you...send me some of your favorite dresses from the Spring 2013 collections that you would like Kristen to wear.  It can be one outfit or it can be ten.  If you send me some, I will feature them on the blog.  Send me a twitter message, and I will let you know the best way to send your choices to me.

A/N:  To Kim and Crystal, thank you so much for your help and letting me feature your picks on the blog.  Kim, your idea to do this was awesome...even though I wanted to kill you through some of it. ;-)

Promo Wish List...Day 2

Promotion for Breaking Dawn part 2 begins in two weeks.  That means the last promotional tour, the last movie...feelings, I have them.

So yesterday we took a look at Crystal's ( @takemetobliss ) choices for Kristen for BD promotion.  If you missed it, hop back a post and take a look.  She picked out some great choices for Kristen.  Also, you still have until midnight EST tonight to enter her giveaway for a copy of Elle Canada.  Take Me to Bliss Giveaway

I talked a little bit about fashion yesterday and what it means to me.  But what actually peeked my interest in this whole business?  I'm a woman, I like pretty things.  Who doesn't?  It wasn't until I met a certain friend that I realized how little I actually knew. She introduced me to designers, models, styles, fashion week...basically anything and everything related to fashion.  She also got me very obsessed with following the new collections that came out.  Pinterest became my own personal fashion magazine.  You can ask me a question about something fashion related, and I may answer like I know. But seriously, she is the go-to for anything to do with that world.  I now feel like I have some solid ground to stand on when it comes to the style world because of her.  Let me give you an example.  I was watching the Emmys a few weeks ago...obviously for the pretty dresses, not the awards (because no one I wanted actually won anything). My husband walks in, sits down beside me, and asks, "do you actually know any of the designers of these outfits?"  I rattled off like 5 in a row without pause...probably mis-pronouncing 3/5 but hey, you get my point.  Then he said to me, "name one of the US cabinet members."

me

That is so embarrassing.  So now that I've made myself sound completely uneducated, we are going to move on.

Kim.  She is the friend I was talking about above.  And she is the one that presented me with this fashion challenge.  Here is an example of our conversation throughout this whole process:

she found my freaking out funny

Kim also picked a dress early last year that she really wanted Kristen to wear.  And Kristen ended up wearing it.  Guess which one it was?

four for you Kim

Without blabbing anymore....

Kim's Choices:

Peter Pilotto

Matthew Williamson

Alberta Ferretti

Zac Posen

Balenciaga

Marchesa

Marios Schwab

Jason Wu

Elie Saab

J. Mendel

YES YES YES!!!!!  alsdjflsadkjflasjfd.  So many great choices.

What do you guys think?  Have a favorite from this choice collection?

A/N:  Kim....thank you so much for making me do this challenge.  As much as I fretted over it, it made me take a step back and forced me to think about why I was choosing a certain dress.  I love the choices you made and am very anxious to see her wear some of these.  ILY madly!

A Promo Wish List...day 1

"Bravery never goes out of fashion." -William Thackerary

Whether or not you consider yourself a big fashion guru, there are always those styles you are drawn to.  That creative niche inside all of us draws us to the fabric, the detailing, the texture, the fit, the layers, and even the smell of particular articles of clothing.

For me, clothes have always been about comfort.  I LOATHE being uncomfortable in what I am wearing.  For example, I will avoid wearing dress slacks at any and all costs.  Most of that comes from the fact that I can never find a decent pair that actually fit. The majority of us probably have a staple article of clothing that we can always depend on.  Me?  I have a pair of Miley Cyrus (from Walmart for about $12) pair of skinny black pants that are my go-to item.  They go with EVERYTHING.  The material is so soft from where I've worn them so much.  See outfit below:

also, that gray sweater...one of my staples throughout the fall and winter.

So what is fashion?  A wise woman once said that if you aren't comfortable in what you are wearing, the clothes end up wearing you.  That wise woman was Kristen Stewart. Throughout the past several years, we have seen Kristen's style really grow and mature.  Some would probably describe her style as edgy and different.  However, Kristen has made the comment before that she knows as soon as she tries on a dress or outfit whether it is going to work for her.  I don't think she sees the outfits that she wears as different...it is what she is comfortable in.  BUT, she isn't afraid to take risks, and that is what is so unique about her style.  She is brave when it comes to fashion.

So where is all this fashion talk going?  A couple months ago, I sent a few of my friends a Word document of all the Fall 2012 collection outfits that I would want Kristen to wear for Breaking Dawn promo.  One of the friends (*cough Kim *cough) responded back about a week ago saying "No, that's not gonna work."  Long story short, she gave me a challenge.  She told me to pick my 10 favorite outfits from the Spring 2013 collections that I would want Kristen to wear for BD promo.  Here's the kicker...I could only choose one outfit per designer.  Cue freakout.  I was only allowed to choose one J. Mendel, one Jason Wu, one Elie Saab...THAT'S NOT AN EASY TASK.  But I completed the challenge, and so did she.  I also asked another friend, Crystal, if she would help out and send me her favorites.

For the next three days, there will be a post dedicated to each of our picks.  Today is Crystal's top 10 looks.

Crystal's picks:

L'Wren Scott Spring 2013 Read-to-Wear (I want this dress myself - but I think K would look amazing in it)

Maiyet Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear (I think her legs would look AMAZING in this)

Elie Saab Spring 2013 Ready-to-Wear (this neckline would look stunning on her)

Chanel Spring 2013 (I'm a sucker for classic Chanel and black and white - I think she could rock this with a pair of red shoes or Leboutins)

Roland Mouret Spring 2013 (Love K in red - she could rock this)

Burberry Prorsum Spring 2013 ( would love to see her wear this at a junket or photo call)

Lela Rose Spring 2013 (again - a great press junket photo call dress)

Monique Lhuillier Spring 2013 (as you may know - I LOVE monique and I think this dress would look amazing on K and would be different than what she normally wears)

Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2013 (her in white AND this neckline? DEAD)

Zuhair Murad Spring 2013 (just love love love this dress)

LOVE!  Crystal picked several dresses from the Spring 2013 collections that I would kill to see Kristen wear.

A/N: Crystal, thank you so much for taking the time out to do this for me.  I really appreciate it!  Also, Crystal is doing an amazing giveaway on her blog.  She is giving away a copy of Elle Canada to a lucky follower.  All you have to do is leave a comment on her blog.  If you want to get extra crazy and enter twice, get over to Twitter and tweet the following: "Because Kristen is pretty & Elle Canada was epic – @takemetobliss is giving away a copy to a lucky reader over @ takemetobliss.wordpress.com"  Giveaway ends on Tuesday October 9th at midnight EST.  Go Go Go ---> Take Me to Bliss Giveaway
